SCALBY FOOTBALL CLUB  (SFC) is a Charter Standard club and as such complies with the best practices and guidelines issued by the FA. The following document is to provide coaches, players and spectators with clear information about managing the risk of Covid-19 in grassroots sport. 

NOTES ABOUT THIS RISK ASSESSMENT 

With reference to Carr Lane Ground  the club has carried out a risk assessment and resulting from that has developed the enclosed policy which will be under constant review.

Symptom Check​

 

IMPORTANT: Players and Coaches must ensure that before each training session and match that they or or any person  in their household does not have any symptoms of Covid-19 as below

 

  • A high temperature (above 37.8oC)

  • A new continuous cough.

  • Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell.

  • Been in close contact with/living with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the

previous two weeks. 

 

  • If the any of the above symptoms present themselves the player must not attend games or training and should follow government guidelines for self-isolation and seek further guidance from the government website or call 111.

 

Equipment 

 

Players should ensure that they have their own water bottle, hand sanitiser, sun cream and any necessary medication (e.g. inhaler). All items belonging to the player should be labelled with their name and should not be used by anyone else.

 

If a player or a member of their household tests positive for Covid-19 then they must inform the Covid Officer – m_a_eccles@yahoo.co.uk

 

Match day and training sessions: Carr Lane (from December 2020)

 

The following information relates to matchdays and training sessions that are held at home and will be provided to both home and away teams ahead of games. 

 

  1. SOCIAL DISTANCING and Behaviour  at Carr Lane Ground 

 

  1. We request all players if possible to arrive changed or change outside and not to use the clubhouse  in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. 

  2. If players do need to use the Clubhouse and Changing Rooms, they should wear a face covering  when inside, respect the markings in the clubhouse to maintain social distancing and no more than 6 people can be in each Changing Rooms at any one time.

  3.  Coaches  can access the clubhouse for equipment, safeguarding support or in an emergency.

  4. Toilets will be accessible during activities. Only One individual is allowed into the clubhouse at any one time and handwashing facilities are available. Should there be more than one person awaiting use of the toilets social distancing of 2 meters should be observed.

  5. Players can drive or walk up to the venue but must stay socially distanced unless with someone from their own household. The club would strongly encourage players to cycle or walk and not to drive to the venue for activities and not to use public transport.

  6. On arrival to the ground, players will be directed to meet and greet areas by a club official (usually the coach). Players will be directed to leave their personal items, drinks, sanitiser in a specific zone. Coaches will record attendance at this point.

  7. Should spectators  choose to stay and watch the activity they must stay socially distanced from each other unless from the same household and comply with the club’s code of conduct and respect policy.

  8. Players/spectators should not handle any equipment during match practice and games. 

  9. Players are reminded that chewing gum and spitting at all activities is banned. 

  10. Group Goal Celebrations are also not permitted and during breaks in play and training the players must stay socially distanced. Celebrating a goal is still fine – just not in close proximity to other players!

  11. On leaving the venue, all attendees should maintain social distance unless with a member of their household.

  12. All Litter must be collected and disposed of in the litter bins provide

Section Two: Coaches and Club officials – Covid 19 actions from risk assessment 

 

Coaches must ensure before each session that players have carried out a symptom check. Coaches can ask players at the start of each session and any player exhibiting one of more of the symptoms below should be advised to go home:

  • A high temperature (above 37.8oC)

  • A new continuous cough..

  • Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell..

  • Been in close contact with/living with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the

  • previous two weeks.

Coaches must keep a register of players in attendance before each session begins.

Coaches will provide a “player zone” that is socially distanced and allows players to arrive safely and keep a distance.

Coaches are responsible for cleaning and sanitising all equipment and ensuring players do not touch equipment during sessions. 

When arranging games at Carr Lane, Coaches should provide the visiting team with a copy of the Covid 19 policy.

 

 

 

SECTION THREE – Additional Guidelines for the Carr Lane Ground

  1. VISITING TEAMS MUST COMPLY WITH THE POLICY

This includes social distancing and adhering to the FA guidelines for the following;

  • No Chewing Gum

  • No Spitting

  • No Group Celebrations

  • Players socially distanced during breaks

  • Spectators  socially distanced

  •  

  1. Injuries

Injuries that are deemed to be minor and do not require urgent medical support should not be treated by the coach. A parent or someone from the same household can treat the player if needed. Play should be stopped and the player given chance to recover.

If the injury is serious, the coach / first aider can respond and is encouraged to use personal protective equipment such as gloves and a mask to help treat the player and then follow the Emergency action plan.

  1. NHS QR CODE 

Scalby Football Club has an NHS QR code for Carr Lane which is displayed on a poster on the wall outside of the Pavillion. This forms part of the Government’s TRACK and TRACE system and all attendees at a session at Carr Lane should register.

Notes about Risk assessment

With reference to Carr Lane, the club has carried out a risk assessment and resulting from that has developed the enclosed policy which will be under constant review. We have endeavoured to  incorporate the guidelines of both  the FA and the Government and wish to emphasise that their guidelines do take precedence should they differ from those of the club.

Parents and Carers – Covid 19 Guidelines from Risk Assessment  

 

 

 

1.   Symptom Check 

 

IMPORTANT: Parents and carers must ensure that before each training session and match that their child or another person in their household does not have any symptoms of Covid-19 as below

 

  • A high temperature (above 37.8oC)

  • A new continuous cough.

  • Shortness of breath.

  • A sore throat.

  • Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell.

  • Feeling generally unwell.

  • Been in close contact with/living with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the

  • previous two weeks.

 

If the any of the above symptoms present themselves the player must not attend games or training and should follow government guidelines for self-isolation and seek further guidance from the government website or call 111.

 

2.   Consent form signed 

 

ALL parents and carers responsible for a child under the age of 15 must give consent to train and play football in line with the club’s Covid policies and procedures. This will be a one-off consent form issued online and a copy can be accessed here to cover activities until December 31st.

3.   Equipment

During the initial return to grassroots football the new clubhouse, changing facilities and toilets will remain closed to spectators and players in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. The club will continue to review this during the new season and in line with any updates from the government. The only exceptions are for the coaches who can access the clubhouse for equipment or in an emergency.

 

Cars and Vehicles are not permitted to drive up to Carr Lane and must park in the village. Players can walk up to the venue but must stay socially distanced unless with someone from their own household. 

 

The club would strongly encourage players to cycle or walk to the venue for activities and not to use public transport.

The club and coach must ensure that at the resumption of the season that all parents have given consent to train and read the policy. This will be done just once online at the start of September. 

 

Coaches must keep a register of players in attendance before each session begins.

 

Coaches will provide a “player zone” that is socially distanced and allows players to arrive safely and keep a distance.

 

Coaches are responsible for cleaning and sanitising all equipment and ensuring players do not touch equipment during sessions. 

 

When arranging games at Carr Lane, Coaches should provide the visiting team with a copy of the Covid 19 policy and provide confirmation of the clubs affiliation number which is NRI25616
